About Black Oxide Metal Finishers

BOMF was started over 20 years ago by the Doherty Family at the request of just one customer who required a BO finish that was not consistently available in the market. The business has grown through word of mouth and excellent customer service and although the original customer has taken its manufacturing off shore, the business is still growing with a range of regular and loyal customers from many diverse industries who use our services today. The business changed hands in 2012, but the knowledge and same customer ethos has been passed down through existing staff and it is still "business as usual". The process hasn't changed and we are looking to enhance our services further to accommodate our customer's needs.

We offer a quality finish you can count on and consistently provide a same day turnaround and can usually meet your tight deadlines with a 2 hour service if required.   If you have a large or unusually job, call us to discuss how we can help you and provide the finish you require.  We can blacken most types of steel including mild steel, cast iron, hardened steel, nitro-carburized steel and we have a limited size capability for stainless steel in a smaller bath.

We have an onsite forklift for those bigger jobs and can return your work via your preferred courier.
